hypothermia

why is it so cold?, it's supposed to be may but feel's more like march or october, there's no warmth to be had in our neck of the wood's today that's for sure, dull, cold, overcast, cold, drizzle, cold, don't know if i mentioned the temperature, a soaring seven degree's when i set off on the sporty, twenty out and my finger's are starting to dull, forty and i'm in full on white finger raynauds syndrome, my sympathetic nervous system is shutting down, numb, painful, non functioning, the blood supply shut's down to preserve my vital organ's, i'm slipping into hypothermia, i have to stop, it's too risky to carry on, how cold is it? i pull into a lay-by on the infamous via-gellia, the old roman road that run's between cromford and newhaven, the a5012 to give it it's official designation, i've rode this road so many times before, it's twist's and turn's, off-camber's and tree lined  narrow ribbon of tarmac catching out many rider's on their way down to matlock bath, often damp under the tree's and with a slick of grit and dust from the numerous quarry lorries that plow this route on the line through the corner's it's an accident waiting to happen, but, treated with respect, it's one of the best roads in derbyshire, best ridden late summer evening's , preferably mid-week when the lorry driver's have run out of hour's, officially the second most dangerous road in britain, put it on your list of things to do before you die, just don't die riding it...............
