cool as fuck.

'i think we might have to drop the forks through the yokes a bit to quicken the steering lads', the racer project was not going too well, barse, dave and me, testing the handling on the project, pride park stadium, may, 2010.

sunday, out on the sporty, nipped in to see an old mate to catch up, used to see him every week but life got in the way, moving house, moving jobs, kids, blah, blah, blah, he was doing some maintenance on his 350 ducati single, badged as a condor, it was a swiss army despatch riders bike, we got talking and i told him about my mz racer project, he was impressed and opened up one of his out-buildings to reveal the mz ts 250, [foreground] and the mz 250 trophy background], the tank is off a dead rare mz 250 trophy sport, he has loads of spares and showed me another two trophy's out in the yard under a tarpaulin, the longer i looked at them the more i understood where he was coming from, he has some really nice classic bikes but there is just something really cool about these east german utalitarian motorcycles that really appeals.

i love the headlamp cowl, it's a design classic, for me it's up there with the katana, unique, you won't find this on any other motorcycle, i really like the pressed steel handlebar cover too, adds a bit of 'thunderbirds' to the bike.

one owner from new, 11,ooo miles, still got the original toolkit and spares under the seat, spare spark plug, spare cables and a puncture outfit in a lovely little aluminium case, embossed with the mz logo, the forks are 'earles' type, hence the high mounted front mudguard.
