what's a matter with people? the boxer frame, subframe and battery carrier is ready for blasting and powdercoating after the last bit of fettling and drilling of lightening holes, i phoned around today, all six powdercoating, stove enameller's and shotblasting firms in derby didn't want to know, 'too busy mate', 'i've got bike part's from june that i haven't touched yet, i've got a contract with the council and i ain't got time', 'can you get it blasted yourself and i can paint it for you around the end of march' etc, etc, etc, bollock's to that, if i don't get the frame back for xmas i'm going to be standing around for a fortnight over the holiday, i can't afford to do that, the practice day is at mallory at the end of march, first race is april, i cast my net wider, i contact a firm in nearby burton-on-trent, they are busy but when i tell them of my plight they re-shuffle and promise to get the job done within a week, that's more like it, i tell dangerous about it and he agree's to drop the frame off tomorrow, then he start's, 'why do you always have black bikes?, black bikes are boring', 'i like black dangerous, it's not a colour, it doesn't distract from the shape and form of the bike or the engineering', 'well i think you should go for a different colour to stand out', 'i don't want to stand out dangerous, well, not by the colour of the bike anyway', 'black's boring, i'm going to tell the bloke to do it a different colour, think outside the box for once', with that he leaves, i strip the bit's for coating down to their component part's and leave a message for the sprayer, i like black bikes, what's wrong with that?........
