keep on keepin' on
i'm sorry, no, really i'm sorry, alcohol and music is a powerful thing, especially when you throw in a healthy dose of sarcasm, 'been there. done that', cynicsism, passion and 'fuck-you' into the mix, one of my new year resolutions is to be nice to people, i'm really going to try and see the best in everyone, not upset anyone and listen to everyones point of view, everyone who is trying to scratch a living from their blog-posts, all the people promoting 'merch', employing professional photographers, re-posting bollocks and not actually doing anything, to all the folk with fuck-all to say, no soul, no passion and no-brain's, i salute you, no, really i do, see, i told you, i'm really trying, anyway, been reading one of my book's that the boy jack got me for xmas, david nowells 'the story of northern soul' absolute essential reading, people with passion, people with commitment, people with soul, i'm proud to have been a part of that, you dig? well, perhaps you do, perhaps you don't, i-pod on 'shuffle' and sea-sick steve's 'keep on keepin' on' comes on, well, bugger me, never heard this before, it's certainly not 'northern soul' but, it just fit's what i'm thinking tonight, anyway, here's some photo's of the progress on the headsteady, [with a pic of the weedy, wimpy, bent-in-a-vice pressed steel o.e.m 'ting and 'ting compared with the loveless replacements] here's to the shed-dweller's, the dog owner's, the ugly, the awkward, the truthful and the soulful.......
i raise an aldi "sainte etienne" to you lad
ReplyDeleteSoooo...your not going to be selling a 'Loveless' line of Jammies or toe warmers...?
ReplyDeleteThe lunatics are in the shed . . . it'll be the Loveless Onesie Laz, soul brother clobber for the spiritually cynical . . . I'll take two thankyou Tim. XXX
ReplyDeleteIt would be remiss of me not to mention that you're making a laughing stock of Hinckley engineering practices Lovey, fucking gorgeous . . . now there's some 'product' you could righteously hawk without selling your soul . . . just a thought.
ReplyDeleteTim, I believe you've hit the ground running, keep up the alcohol, music and sarcasm, it's a winning combination!
ReplyDeleteA kinder, gentler loveless in'14?
ReplyDeleteMakes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
blimey, thanks people, seriously, i'm trying not to be so cynical and i'm going to step back and consider everything on it's own merit before posting stuff that might upset anyone, or, perhaps i'll just carry on ruffling a few feathers, telling it how i see it and looking beyond the 'king's new clothes' that seems to be taking over a lot of blogs, there are a lot of honest, hard working people out there, making stuff, modifying motorcycles and having a great time doing it, doing it to the best of their abilities, fucking it up, but giving it a go, having a good time and learning how to use basic handtools to achieve great results, just look a little further and you will find them, or they will find you, there's no need to just keep following a bunch of johnny-come-lately's who want to rule the world and suck us all into some sort of 'trend' parting with hard earned cash for 'fashion' items, hoodies, t-shirts, stickers, burberry lined wax cotton tool roll's, or hip 'fanzine' 'fan-scene', motorcycles as art, old bollocks, turn -up's? yeah, ok when you buy the wrong, too long legged, jeans, not carefully, ironed in creases, engineer boots? you don't know what it means, facial hair? get a shave you fucking hippy! oh dear, sorry, i mean, it's january the 4th, surely thats long enough for a new years resolution to go south already?
DeleteHa, the season of good will didn't last long! Brilliant!
