dave stricklers '65 dodge coronet dragster, another one of the loveless collection, saw a picture of the original in 'rodders journal' magazine, [magazine is doing this periodical a massive injustice, it's total quality], and fell in love with it, picked up this scale model in california, it was one of those moments, like derby beating forest, finding some rare vinyl or something going right on the racer project for a change.....

another 'walmart' special i picked up on my latest trip to the states, no front brake, no clutch lever, no brake lever, no front disc, massive yokes, stubby forks, i'm liking the cutaway fuel tank, the engineer boots, stonewash jeans and brown shirt, [because brown is the new black according to trinny and suzannah], dude has no tattoos, he's wearing one of those 'doner' helmets you can pick up over there for ten dollars and oakley 'outlet' shades, beautiful.

jesse james, love him or hate him he builds some great bikes, this is a model of one of them, the 'vanilla guerilla', yeah, he gets some stick, he's a celebrity with a rock-star lifestyle, but, he can build bikes, can you? or are you one of those 'kool' fuckers who reads 'dice', reads the 'jockey journal', grows a caveman beard and hunts down cut-off levi jackets in charity shops? are you one of those who raids other peoples blogs for 'authentic' chopper photo's and pretends you were there back in the day, [even though you are actually twenty-two years old?], don't slag off those who have been there and done that, get your hands dirty and jump in the pool or fuck off and play with your skateboard, [vintage of course, like mine, got mine off one of the original venice beach dogtown crew, i've been there, have you?]
indian racer and '32 ford coupe, car is 'hotwheels' model from '97, got them both from walmart in florida, loved it when jack was younger, 'do you want to have a look at the models mate?', not so easy now, 'fuck that dad, let's go for a beer', can't leave anything alone me, rubbed through the paint on the coupe to reveal the red primer and bare metal for that authentic look.

tom mcewens 'mongoose' hotwheels funny car dragster, this one i do have, i also had a don prudholme 'snake' model but i can't find it, the body lifts up to reveal the rollcage, driver and engine but it's on such a small scale that there's not a lot of detail, i can, however, remember the stickers were on a seperate sheet and applying them at my nan's flat on keddy road.

here's another blast from the past, another model fom the 'britains' series, the designers must have loved working on this one, bsa engine, upswept 2 into 4 mega's, apes, wicked seat climbing up the sissy-bar and what looks like an mz trophy front mudguard, [not fender, never, ever call it a fender], and as for the rider, he looks like justin hawkins out of the darkness, i bet the good citizens of st. albans were bricking it when this bad-ass road into town in his pink all in one flared jumpsuit, white croched cut-off and green boots, belt and headband combo, sheer class.

britains model speedway rider, i had this when i was a kid, you got two riders and i can remember the day i got it, i was staying with my nan at the time and we went into derby on saturday morning, we did the normal shop and we went to ratcliffes toy shop on the spot to buy it, they didn't have any in stock so we went to the model shop on the old cockpitt hill market, they had them in stock and i parted with my birthday money, i can remember playing with them, racing both bikes against each other on my nan's sofa, the crashes became more and more spectacular and i broke the handlebar off one of the models, gutted, i haven't got them now but i'm following one on ebay at the minute, hope i can bag it.
