northern soul
i really cannot wait to see the elaine constantine film 'northern soul' for all of us who were there it will bring back the memories, for everone else? well i just hope it spark's something off, for everyone who has a soul, for everyone who just 'get's it', search out some compilation albums like the 'talcum soul' series, there's loads of stuff out there, available dead cheap, but, if you really want to experience the essence of northern soul, get to an all-nighter, listen to the scratchy vinyl, smell the sweat and just let the soul music seep into you, i bet you will end up spending a fortune on rare soul vinyl, you won't be able to pass by a second hand shop without going in and looking through the records and i bet this music will change your life, forever......
Missed Northern Soul first time round, got it in the mid 70s revival, when i found that having found Blues and Soul through John Raven and Alexis Corner it was like coming home! Miss having record shops with records to look through :( . Used to buy vinyl by the armful... if I didn't like it it went back next weekend to help sponsor the next weeks purchases!
northern soul? just for them fuckers that cant dance. always look like theyre dancing with headphones on cos its never to the beat of whatever tripe is playing. get yerself to a Who concert, listen to some proper music with proper massive bollocks, then go home and melt all your wanky tosspot northern soul vinyl into ashtray shapes and flower pots for your geraniums. Keep the Faith? fuck right off. its a Bon Jovi song. nuff said. pussyholes. the lot on yer.
Gidday Lovey, good to see old Anon full of the usual joy and charisma, ha ha ha . . . I'll just have to do the fillum then mucker, not to many all-nighters in my part of the world . . . re the Gurus 'Kamikaze Pilot', it's not their clip, I think some enterprising soul just took a shitload of footage from 'Tora, Tora, Tora' and threw it together. The Lyric is actually 'Cherry Blossom calling', that's the call-sign of the story's anti-hero who realises he's not really into flying his Zero into a large, very hard Seppo ship . . . avagoodweekend Timmy and Happy Easter to the clan.
I'd be your Chewin T'bacca anytime mate, big ups . . . Lovey, blow me down mate, you are correct, it is 'falling down', listening to something for thirty years and still fuck it up !! Should've known better than to mess with the Zen Master from Derby prefecture . . . cheers mate.
