the scooter's are one of the reasons i want to race with the bhr, i've got a foot in both camps, traditionally scooters have always been associated with the northern soul scene, don't know about the early day's in the sixties, i'm sure there must have been people who travelled to all-nighter's on them when the original mod's embraced the rare soul movement, but for me, active on the northern scene in the mid 70's to early 80's i can't really remember seeing many scoots parked up outside northern venues, that changed with the mod revival, loads more scooters, scooter rally's and a whole new generation turned on to the lifestyle, from the mod-fuelled revivlist's, the cut-down vespa, px and t5 riding, mohican, cherry red booted m1a jacketed phsycobilly's who invaded seaside town's the length and breadth on a bank holiday weekend, to the more performance orientered 'fast scooter' street racers to the legendary 'hardly rideable's' a loose knit bunch of lad's and lasses who turned the rat-scoot into an artform, attending the motorcycle action group demo run's and out drinking, out 'consuming' and out fighting their biking 'brother's' and guess what? the buggers are still at it, the scooter racer's aren't some ragged-tail, poor relation's to the bike racing elite, rather, a bunch of hard-as-nail's racer's who take their sport as seriously as any manx norton owning lansdowne series owner..........
