well, what do you know? summer finally arrived, two consecuctive dry, warm, sunny day's, up to buxton to check out the latest round of the british flat-track series, the high peak raceway must be one of the most picturesque setting's in england, perched high above the 'highest town in england' and approached on an almost un-made, single track road, park up the sporty and bump into gary inman from 'sideburn' good to catch up, there's a great selection of 'tracker's here, from converted moto-crosser's to wilky's gorgeous triumph, the heat's come thick and fast and there's some very close racing, the circuit is very bumpy and tight and i should imagine very demanding to race on, i spend a couple of hour's wandering around the pit's, watching the racing and enjoying the whole laid back ambience of the meeting, skin out and back across axe edge and into leek, onto the ashbourne road and call in at darley moor to check out the latest round of the club racing championship, it's still busy, the novice race is well subscribed and there's everything out there in a handicap race from 125 stroker's, 675 triumph's and 'blades, check out the tyre wall's at the first chicane, come off here and that's going to hurt you, one thing that both meeting's have in common is that the people competing are doing it for the love of the sport, no cash prizes here, a poxy plastic trophy at best, respect due ladies and gentlemen, keep on keeping on.........................
