sunday, decided that the trail-tech unit is just too much for a luddite like me, barse has taken it for gordy to try on his sporty so i take a trip to my local halfords to have a gander at the pushbike units, i only want a speedo, trip and clock that's it, i end up with a cat's eye wireless unit, forty-quid and ten functions, seven more than i need, got to be worth a punt i reckon, dig a piece of round stock out and machine to suit, that's better, rig up the wireless sensor on the right forkleg and borrow my ma's knitting tape to measure the circumference of the wheel and tyre, 1810, programme it in and dodge the rain to check the reading, bollocks, just knew it wasn't going to be that easy, try numerous attempts to dial it in but the rain is coming down with a vengeance, i'm wearing an open face lid, short's and a clash t-shirt so decide to sack it for another day and turn to getting some sort of underguard sorted to protect the electics, i dig out a underguard off an anonymous japper doner bike cut it down and shape it up with a hacksaw blade, file and emery, turn up a couple of spacers on the lathe, new stainless fasteners and bolt it up, little job's like this seem to take forever, a whole afternoon gone, just me, the dog's and marriane faithfull on radio six........
