i've struck gold tonight, i've been looking for a blog like this for ages, martial art's, tattoo's, japanese art, eastern culture, it's not alway's easy to look at, some of the kinbaku/shibari images may be 'challenging' to some people, me? i think it's brilliant........

what bike do you ride then mate?
i'm a real sucker for baseball caps, well, hat's in general, i suppose it must be something to do with being 'follically challenged' i don't give a toss about being a baldy-man, it's something that's never bothered me, my 'hat wearing' thing has come about because my head just get's cold, simple, here's my latest purchase, made on sunday at darley moor, a harley/harris/bsb baseball cap, i love it, it's got the longest peak in christendom, it's in the traditional harley racing colours of black, white and orange and it only cost me a fiver, result....
aermacchi
compare and contrast. sweary mick's 350 'macchi and sweary mick's 250 'macchi, the 250 has had major work done on the head, the fin's machined away to allow central spark plugging, yes, i know the principles of this, it allows a more efficient flame path and 'burn, essential to good performance, can't find any other aermacchi's with this mod, does anyone know of any? is twin plugging an option like on the boxer engines? [if we run dual coils, would this have any positive/negative effects on performance?] there's not a lot of info out there on the 'tinterweb available like there is for other machines,[and i thought mz two-stroke tuning was a dark-art!] fascinating stuff for sure and a real journey of discovery from where i'm sitting......

gobsmacked
every now and again i stumble across a bike that stun's me, here's one of them, a total mash-up of styles, the rake on the fork's? steeper than a very steep thing, upside down fork's coupled with a four-leading shoe drum brake, monoshock rear suspension?, yep, high-level pipe, ducati style formula-two pantah stylee fuel tank and minimal rear sub-frame, best bike this year for me, anyone know anything about it? more minty than an extra strong mint, fucking mint.......
darley moor
after reading back my post from last night i got sucked into the history of racing at darley moor, the windswept race circuit deep in the middle of derbyshire and unsurprisingly, just as it says on the tin, situated on top of a moor, here's a few images from back in the day's, one things for sure, the racing was just as competitive as it is now......

stars at darley
october already? where's the year gone? 'stars at darley' traditionally the season's closing race meeting, the work's team's come along to race at a basic, derbyshire, old ww2 airfield track, not knocking it in any way, i love darley moor, been supporting the races since, well, more year's than i care to remember, seaweed?, dave humpstone? the day's of lc250 and 350's, most of them stolen bikes, gsx 1100's, gs 1000's running alongside fast british twin's and triples, yammy tz's, the scent of castrol 'r' heavy in the air, proper, today i get caught sneaking in, first time for everything i suppose, if you turn right at the island instead of left you usually miss the pay gate, park up in the paddock and watch the racing for free, not today, an eagle eyed old biddy spot's me and follow's me faster than mo farrer to let me know she's clocked me, i plead ignorance and bargain her down to 8 quid from fifteen as the racing has started, fuck me, i'm losing my touch, it's a great leveller for the work's boy's, not taking anything away from them but in football term's this is the non-league boy's, the pub team's sticking it up the premiership, a great day's racing and a great day's riding, it's bloody cold but you have to get in what you can at this time of year, i get flashed by a police car on my way home, i'm pushing it, it's almost dark, [ok, it's dark, no light's but one of those day's when you don't want to go home]
aermacchi
popped in to see sweary mick on the way to darley moor, i was dropping off a pair of bar end's that dangerous had machined up before he scooted off to the lake district in the motor caravan, mick get's us a brew on while i get my gear off, he soon returns to the shed with the tea and a fresh, raspberry do-nut, still warm, the crunchy sugar dusting the perfect foil to very strong tea, we sit in the late autumn sunshine looking at the aermacchi on the bench, one thing i notice straight away after studying the 250 mettise is that the head has been machined away for a central spark plug, mick's other bike has it in the traditional left hand, 45 degree position, he's made a blinding job of cleaning and sorting out the bodge's of the previous owner, his attention to detail is amazing, not only has he started machining all the fastener's, dishing out the heads of the bolt's, [mick's proper old-school, none of that socket head bollock's here], he's also drilled out the centre's to reduce weight, here's a bloke who's raced at all level's in his past seventy year's, from 'scrambles' to trial's to road racing, what do i know? fuck all, i'm standing on the shoulders of giant's me......

tattoo
not posted a tattoo picture for a long time, i browse loads of sites to see what's going on, to see what appeals to me, truth be told, there's a lot of the same-old- same-old going on out there, same as in the motorcycle world i guess, everyone just following everyone else and posting the same stuff, things that people think they should post and link to because it's on the 'barometer of cool' fuck that, never been cool, don't want to be in that club, but i still find stuff that makes me go yeah, here's one of them, cucumber cool, cooler than a very cool thing, with extra a.c.....
northern soul
the skullsnaps, 'i'm your pimp', absolutely massive tune back in the day, never an official gsf release,[it was originally an album track and never released as a seven inch single], bootlegged as a dj demo copy, [that's what i've got] even this bootleg is fetching stupid money, what's really sad is that the original artist's don't get any money from their original work, remember, northern soul is essentially rare soul, lot's of obscure soul music, often demo radio station copies that never made it, tunes that bombed and didn't get an official release or if they did, sank into oblivion, only to be rediscovered by a bunch of northern england soul music fan's in the early '70's, music to move you to tears and in the case of the skullsnaps, sly and the family stone styleeee, bass heavy, funky, social commentary not withstanding, just great dance music, i'm your pimp, de, de, de, de, de, i wear my hat to the side and i walk with a limp.............'

cadwell park
i'm running around like a blue arsed fly, scruting the bike, scruting my leather's, helmet, boots and gloves, waiting for noise testing, where's dangerous?, he's strolling around the paddock scoping out the bikes, 'there's an aermacchi-mettise here' 'fuck off dangerous, get some fuel in and check the oil' 'no, seriously, there's an aermacchi-mettise here, it's mint''dangerous, just get the bike sorted and get a brew on' 'i'm telling you, aermacchi-mettise, green, no race number's, must be parading it, lovely bike though' after the first race i change out of my leather's and we go in search of the imagined dangerous aermacchi, 'there you go wanker, told you' fuck, fuck fuckin' fuck, there you go, it's only an aermacchi-mettise, an aermacchi-mettise in british racing/rickman green, i can't talk, i'm just feasting on the bike, probably the best looking bike i have ever seen, 'what the fuck is up with you bailey?' i can't reply, i'm too busy, dangerous slip's on his oakley's, nod's, a half smile almost flicker's across his lip's, must have imagined that, there's no smile when i look again.....
